Our Top 4 Chicago Hotels with Delicious Hot Breakfasts
When you’re on vacation, most of the time you find yourself rushing out of your hotel in the morning, ready to take on the day, even if it means skipping breakfast. The “Hilton Breakfast Alliance” is on a mission to transform breakfast, taking it from a functional, often overlooked meal to an enjoyable experience that allows you to connect with others. The State of Breakfast survey, conducted by the Hilton Breakfast Alliance, revealed that 79% of Americans think breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but often the most rushed. Whether at home or traveling, it’s always important to make breakfast a priority. In fact, 67% of Americans wish they had more time to eat breakfast in the morning.

Of course, it can be difficult when you’re on vacation and out of your usual routine. Plus, if you have a family, you know breakfast when traveling can really add up. When I first started traveling with my family of four, we would easily drop fifty dollars on breakfast alone. Not only would this cut into our vacation budget, but it would often end up being a time-consuming ordeal of choosing where to eat and what to eat. This is why I now always make sure to choose a hotel with a free hot breakfast. Not only will it cut down on costs, but it’ll save you time and headache.

In Chicago, that’s not always easy to come by, which is why I’m here to share with you our top 4 Chicago hotels that offer hot breakfast. Additionally, each one of these hotels is uniquely tailored to whatever type of vacation you’re looking for. Whether you’re planning a family stay-cation, a couples getaway, looking for something pet-friendly, or if you’re a healthy business traveler keeping up with your routine, there’s a hotel to fit your needs.
So, if you’re one of the 89% of Americans that believe having a connected breakfast will have a positive effect on them, then that family vacation in the Windy City is waiting for you (along with a delicious breakfast!).
For the Family Wanting to be in the Heart of all the Action

If you’re looking to stay in the heart of downtown Chicago, be sure to check out Homewood Suites by Hilton Chicago-Downtown. Just a few steps from the Magnificent Mile, this hotel is a great location if you want to experience some of the best shops and restaurants the city has to offer. Not only do they offer a hot full breakfast daily – which is my favorite part! – but each suite has a fully-equipped kitchen, which is perfect for preparing a home-cooked meal and enjoying the views of the skyline. As an added bonus, if you don’t feel like taking a trip to the store, Homewood Suites’ complimentary grocery shopping service will pick up your items and charge the groceries to your room. The service itself is free of charge. For a family staycation, Homewood Suites by Hilton is your best bet. Not only will there be something to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters, but the convenience of their services will help ensure your family gets their mornings started on the right foot!
For Busy Business Travelers Looking for Convenience
Did you know that Chicago is home to the largest convention center in the United States? Well, if you’re planning on attending one of the many events in Chicago, it is most likely located at the famous McCormick Place. For those business travelers trying to stick to their routine during a work trip, there is no better place to stay than at Hilton’s first ever tri-branded hotel. By staying at the tri-branded Chicago McCormick Place, you’ll have your hotel an easy and convenient distance away as you head off to your convention.

What makes this hotel unique is that it offers three different hotel all in one place. Comprised of Hilton Garden Inn by Hilton, Hampton by Hilton, and Home2 Suites by Hilton, this hotel features an expanded exercise room, a pool and, of course, complimentary breakfast! Both Hampton by Hilton and Home2 Suites guests are welcome to enjoy a hot breakfast or take advantage of Hampton by Hilton’s On the Run Breakfast bags if you’re in a hurry. If staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, you’ll be treated to a cooked-to-order breakfast. But that’s not all! The hotel is home to VU Skyward Bev & Eat, a rooftop restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with locally inspired small plates. Even if you are not attending a conference, it is a great place to stay as it is located near the Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, and Grant and Millennium Park.

For the Traveler with a Furry Friend

Another great option to check out is the Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago River North. Located on West Huron Street, Home2 Suites is one of Hilton’s all-suite, extended stay hotels. Head over to Michigan Avenue for some fun and shopping, or checkout some of the great restaurants on Rush Street. Featuring spacious suites and fully accessorized kitchens, these rooms also feature modular furniture that allow guests to customize their suites and make them their own spaces. Also included is, of course, complimentary breakfast which features over 400 potential combinations so you can mix and match your breakfast to suit your taste buds!

If you’re like my family, you can’t help but love traveling with your pet. Of course, it can be hard to find hotels that are not only pet-friendly, but welcoming. When we stayed at Home2 Suites with our dog, Gracie, she was welcomed as though she was one of the family! Even your furry family members can tag along on your trip and enjoy their stay at the very pet-friendly Home2 Suites by Hilton.
For Couples Going on a Relaxing Getaway

The last, but definitely not least, hotel on our list is the Embassy Suites by Hilton Downtown Chicago Magnificent Mile. My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing, couples’ getaway here not too long ago, and we didn’t want to leave. It is in the River North District of Chicago, near Magnificent Mile, and is in a prime location for shopping and dining. Nearby attractions include the Water Tower, Museum of Contemporary Art, and the historic Navy Pier.
Here you can check into two-room suites that feature a kitchenette, separate living areas, and a private bedroom. But if you really want to enjoy your stay, I highly recommend visiting the Sky Garden, where you can relax in an eco-friendly atrium while enjoying a delicious meal. Be sure to also take advantage of the evening cocktail hour, which serves house beer and wine, as well as light snacks. It’s a great way to unwind after a busy day of exploring, or enjoy before heading out to dinner on the town.

As a chef, my husband’s favorite part of our stay was the made-to-order breakfast that included an incredible omelet station, perfect for creating breakfast your way. And once you have filled up on a delicious breakfast, be sure to check out the sauna and indoor pool for a relaxing start to your day. Just be sure to wait 30 minutes after breakfast before jumping in!
Each one of these hotels has something to offer everyone during their stay but most importantly, a great meal and a chance to connect over breakfast. It’s no wonder that 73% of Americans admit they are happiest when they eat breakfast.
