Tips for planning your adults-only weekend at Disney World
Have you ever considered taking a couple's trip, without children, to Disney World? I often hear that Disney is just for kids. But you might be surprised to find how many options there are for fabulous food, beautiful accommodations and tons of fun. It can be the perfect adults-only weekend!
How about a fun room at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge with a Savannah view of live animals? Your luggage will be picked up from the airport for free and meet you in your room after you arrive on Disney's Magical Express bus, which is also free. After check in, you can wander hand in hand around the resort and check out the amazing artwork. Then take a free tour of the two African restaurants on the property, tasting the amazing food and learning about the culture.
For the evening, head over to Downtown Disney on the free transportation, enjoy a stroll through all of the shops, with a stop at the largest Disney Store on property. Move on to Portobello Country Italian Trattoria for a nice relaxing Italian dinner for two — by candlelight, of course!
The next day or two, choose your favorite parks to visit. If rides are not your thing, there are many great shows to see, plus shopping, dining, sightseeing and more. If you decide not to visit the parks, there's still plenty to keep you busy. At Downtown Disney, you can enjoy luxury bowling or Disney Quest, with tons of video games, or even a hot air balloon ride.
At Disney's Boardwalk Resort, you can check out ESPN Club. Many locations throughout Disney World have opportunities for boating and fishing. And, of course, the resorts have fabulous pools, so you might just decide to lounge in the sun. How about a specialty tour? There are behind-the-scenes tours at most parks, or try the Richard Petty Driving Experience located near the main ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. I have done the ride along…fantastic fun!
You can end each day sampling cuisine from around the world. Maybe even consider renewing your vows at a super romantic Disney location! There's so much fun to be had during an adults-only weekend at Disney. No matter if you're seeking time to relax or a fun adventure, you can do it without the children at Walt Disney World!
