Insectarium

OUR EXPERIENCE WHILE ON SET

There was more to the Insectarium than just seeing insects. We were able to take a bug cooking class and the food tasted better than we expected! Our experience led us to sample insects like mealworms and crickets, which we blended into a fantastic dip.  We never knew we would get educated about the creepy crawlers of the world and learn a new recipe or two!

OUR ADDITIONAL TIP

We have a tip to get the biggest bang for your buck! Why just visit the Insectarium, when you can also experience the Audubon Zoo, Aquarium, Butterfly Garden and Entergy IMAX with the Audubon Experience Package? This allows you to see the insects you love, while having the opportunity to see other exciting attractions. Enjoy the experience for 14 consecutive days at a reasonably priced deal!

NEED MORE IDEAS???

We did a lot of research for the show! Though we couldn’t visit every destination, we did want to show you what else we found.

Global Wildlife Center, 26389 Louisiana 40, Folsom, LA 70437
Are you ready to get wild?  Well, a visit to the Global Wildlife Center should do the trick! The center, which maintains 900-acres filled with exotic foreign creatures, conducts guided wagon tours to provide in depth information and fun facts about the animals. The Global Wildlife Center is home to many endangered, and even extinct (in the wild) animals from across the globe. The family will even get the opportunity to come face to face with bison, zebra and camels as well as other creatures; you may even get to feed a giraffe! Feel the wagon ride is not personal enough? The center now offers a Private Pinz Tour which takes a 4×4 vehicle into areas the safari wagons can’t go. Come and explore Africa in Louisiana!

Aquarium of the Americas, 1 Canal St, New Orleans, LA 70130 There’s nothing fishy about the New Orleans Aquarium. Home to 10,000 creatures, this aquarium boasts numerous exciting and fascinating exhibits including the Gulf of Mexico tank filled with sharks, stingrays, and adorable sea turtles.  Don’t miss the Amazon rainforest room and meander through the 30-foot-long transparent tunnel which allows visitors to survey Caribbean reef inhabitants. If you dare, check out the touch pool where guests can touch a real life baby shark! Swim with the fishes for the day at Aquarium of America.
