Storyland

OUR EXPERIENCE WHILE ON SET

OK, I have to admit…I have always wanted to be a princess and I got my chance at Storyland, which is a hidden gem in City Park.  We were able to experience 25 larger-than-life storybook sculptures that made us feel like kids again! Our crew saw Jack & Jill and The Three Little Pigs, but our favorite was following Pinocchio into the mouth of a whale. The little ones really enjoyed the slides and playground equipment to play on.

OUR ADDITIONAL TIP

So many children don’t seem to know nursery rhymes anymore so Storyland is the perfect place to teach them.  I saw one mom reciting nursery rhymes with her kids while we were there.  She had a book of Mother Goose nursery rhymes with her which she said she checked out from the library!  Great idea!

NEED MORE IDEAS???

We did a lot of research for the show! Though we couldn’t visit every destination, we did want to show you what else we found.

Train Garden in City Park If you have train lovers in your family, don’t miss the Train Garden which is tucked in the Botanical Garden of City Park.  Miniature trains run along tracks that meander through a replica of New Orleans architecture.  The trains run on Saturdays and Sundays when the Botanic Garden is open as well as during the Celebration in the Oaks, which takes place from November to January.
