Gino’s East of Chicago

OUR EXPERIENCE WHILE ON SET

The best part about filming at a restaurant is that the crew usually gets to sample the food!  It is definitely one of our favorite perks of the job, especially because our crew is made up of a bunch of foodies!  I think if our show was strictly about food, we would all gain about 20 pounds an episode.

OUR ADDITIONAL TIP

Food allergies can be a concern to any family. Although it may be easy to sometimes forget, some of Gino’s items contains nuts and dairy products. If a family member has a nut allergy, please stay away from anything with pesto sauce. Also, if a loved one has a dairy allergy or is lactose intolerant, the thin crust sauce contains dairy products as well.

NEED MORE IDEAS???

We did a lot of research for the show! Though we couldn’t visit every destination, we did want to show you what else we found.

Visit one of the best Italian beef places in Chicago. This location is the original opening location in the early 1900’s and is well-known by most locals. Al’s Beef has been serving Chicagoans since 1930 and still is going strong. A lot of people know Chicago for their pizza, but no visitor or Chicagoan has lived without trying a Chicago-style Italian Beef. There is nothing like a dipped, hot and sweet Italian Beef from Al’s!
