Cranes in the City

OUR EXPERIENCE WHILE ON SET

The people, and the food, were….sweet!  You couldn’t ask for a nicer bunch of folks to interview.  While I was doing a radio show in Holland, my husband Greg and the girls had the opportunity to make apple cider donuts with the chief baker who happens to be the owner’s sister!  It’s a family affair at Crane’s in the City and we enjoyed the camaraderie and the delicious treats.  It was so good, we actually went back for lunch and pie after filling ourselves with morning donuts.  In fact, we were tempted to go back a third time, but we had to cut ourselves off!

OUR ADDITIONAL TIP

Take a look at Cranes unique orders, such as the Grilled PB & J, the Apple Walnut cake, or the the cider float! Come for lunch, but make sure you save room for dessert.  There’s a little something for everyone at Cranes!

NEED MORE IDEAS???

We did a lot of research for the show! Though we couldn’t visit every destination, we did want to show you what else we found.

The very first place we went to upon our arrival in Holland was deBoer’s bakery.  Talk about amazing traditional Dutch treats and this bakery is family owned and run by the deBoer family.  Everything is made fresh in house on a daily basis and let me tell you, you have to get there early because by mid-afternoon, the place was practically sold out!  The locals know how good it is, so they get there early and buy in bulk!  Try a variety for yourself including the artisan breads, flaky pastries and unique cookies and donuts like the maple glazed bacon donut!
