Downtown Holland Street Fest
OUR EXPERIENCE WHILE ON SET
During the summer months, from June through August, Holland’s downtown area is THE spot to be on Thursday nights. Families came out in droves to enjoy jugglers, musicians, and many other street performers. About four blocks are set aside for the performances and cars are not permitted so you can meander down the center of the street and take in all the activity. We had a caricature done of our family and participated in a few of the interactive performances with clowns and hula hoop dancers. All in all it was a blast! But really, how can you beat face paint, ice cream and balloon animals?
OUR ADDITIONAL TIP
Street performances happen all the time in Holland, not just during this special series. If you have a few bucks in your pocket, the performers sure do appreciate the tips. Stroll the sidewalks, grab a bite to eat, pop into a few shops and enjoy your visit to historic downtown Holland.
NEED MORE IDEAS???
We did a lot of research for the show! Though we couldn’t visit every destination, we did want to show you what else we found.
If you are looking for another spot in Holland to explore and enjoy time as a family, check out the DeGraaf Nature Center. Admission is free and the trails are open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week. Throughout the year, the nature center offers hands on displays and animal exhibits. The Nature Center is an 18 acre preserve and includes woodland, marsh and pond trails. You don’t have to leave Holland to reconnect with nature!
