John O’ Brien Clothing & Accessories

OUR EXPERIENCE WHILE ON SET

John O’Brien’s shop is packed to the brim with yarn and gorgeous wool sweaters.  I learned that different families, or clans,  have different sweater patterns.  The Aran Sweater takes its name from the set of islands off the West coast of Ireland, not far from Galway.  Each clan created their own pattern which passed down from generation to generation.

OUR ADDITIONAL TIP

Items in Ireland have a VAT/sales tax already included in the price of your purchase. Non EU residents are entitled to claim their VAT/sales tax on goods they export from the EU.  In some shops you are able to get the tax deducted at the time of purchase, you just have to ask. NEED MORE IDEAS???

We did a lot of research for the show! Though we couldn’t visit every destination, we did want to show you what else we found.
