Castlecourt Hotel

OUR EXPERIENCE WHILE ON SET

While we were shooting all over Ireland, we stayed at several different hotels and we would like to highlight them here! Castlebar Street, Westport, County Mayo, Ireland
We had a lovely stay at the Castlecourt Hotel in Westport.  The rooms were comfortable, the location perfect for our needs and the service impeccable.  The Castlecourt does offer family accommodations with several beds in one room though adjoining rooms are also available if needed. To make it even better, the food in the dining room was delicious and we had the pleasure of enjoying a full Irish breakfast each morning. There are four dining rooms available from which to choose and the extensive dinner menu never left us wanting for anything!Wineport Lodge
Glasson, Athlone, Co. Westmeath, Ireland

What a way to make an impression…the staff at the Wineport Lodge went above and beyond to welcome us and make our visit unbelievable.  Unfortunately, the crew and I were unable to stay for very long – just a quick overnight experience at the Wineport Lodge. That being said, the service that we received on our brief visit was extraordinary and the food was delicious. With great views surrounding the lodge, and additional dock nearby, I wish we could have had more time to explore the area and see some more sights. Without hesitation, I would definitely go back to this incredible hotel for the service alone was over the top.

Ashford Castle
Cong, Co. Mayo Ireland

Ashford Castle is an experience…especially for a family.  You feel like you have just stepped into a fairy tale as you cross over the bridge after entering the castle grounds.  The building itself is majestic and you feel like a prince or princess as you explore the castle with its many rooms and luxurious furnishings.  And the grounds offer adventure all their own with classes in falconry, archery and horseback riding.  Just don’t forget your crown and fairy godmother!

Morrison Hotel
Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin 1, Ireland

The Morrison Hotel is a very chic, elegant hotel located in the heart of Dublin, along the banks of The River Liffey.  You just can’t go wrong with the location of this stunning hotel.  Just down the street from the hotel is the National Leprechaun Museum where you will hear the stories of mythical Ireland!

OUR ADDITIONAL TIP

The Little Museum of Dublin has a unique opportunity for visitors to the capital city to meet up with a local for a cup of tea or a pint! The program is called “The City of a Thousand Welcomes” and you will discover the true meaning of Irish hospitality first hand.  It is a wonderful way to learn about Dublin and get some advice from a local.  The museum itself also offers families a lovely experience and is a must see while in Dublin.  Be sure to check out their family friendly exhibits and tours while you are there.
