Avila Adobe House
OUR EXPERIENCE WHILE ON SET
Krisha Garvey and her family joined us for a visit to the birthplace of Los Angeles…Olvera Street! The area reflects the Mexican culture and heritage of the area and the foundation for Los Angeles. Krisha’s boys explored the marketplace and found little toys that they enjoyed trying. They were absolutely adorable! Having two girls, I always love watching boys be boys! They were really good sports about being on camera and I think tasting the taquitos from Cielito Lindo was the best part of our visit!
OUR ADDITIONAL TIP
Be sure to come to the Avila House with plenty of questions! There are always volunteers on hand to answer questions about the house and to point out interesting facts as well. There is a lot to be learned from the oldest house in Los Angeles. And one of the best parts? It’s FREE!!!!
NEED MORE IDEAS???
Take a step back in time and visit the first, and oldest, firehouse in Los Angeles! After being retired as an operating firehouse, The Plaza Firehouse was transformed into a museum for firefighters from the 19th and very early 20th century. If you’re looking for a more in-depth experience, be sure to check out a guided tour…you won’t regret it!
