Legend of Laramie Tour

OUR EXPERIENCE WHILE ON SET

Located just west of Cheyenne, the town of Laramie, Wyoming was settled in the mid 19th century along the Union Pacific Railroad.  The railroad had an enormous influence on the area and we were able to learn more from Mrs. Nash, a costumed interpretive guide who specializes in Laramie history.  Mrs. Nash taught us about the influence the locomotive had on Laramie as well as about the impact women had on the area.  She also took us to several key landmarks around town, ending our tour at the Ivinson Mansion.

OUR ADDITIONAL TIP

If you don’t have the opportunity to meet a personal tour guide to show you around the town of Laramie, you can do a walking tour on your own with your smart phone.  Just go to the Visit Laramie website and find a map for the Legends of Laramie Tour which will lead you around the downtown area.  As you reach each point on the map, you can use your smartphone to read a QR code, revealing a short video about the legends of Laramie.  We mixed in a stop at the ice cream shop and also ducked into a really cute toy store in between stops on the legends tour…always fun to mix a little learning with a little entertainment!
