Something people ask me all the time is: “If I’ve have never stayed at a Disney Resort, what am I missing out on?”. The answer is that there are many benefits to staying on property, and there are so many varied resorts that you’re likely to find one that meets your budget and interests. The Disney Resorts come in three categories: Value, Moderate and Deluxe. They all have one large pool to match the resort theme and several smaller pools throughout the grounds. They all have dining on property, as well as gift shops with souvenirs, snacks and toiletries in case you forgot anything at home.
The part that most people are not aware of is that transportation to and from Orlando airport is provided at no additional cost if you’re staying at a Disney Resort. Service for Disney’s Magical Express includes special bright yellow luggage tags for everyone in your party. Cast members will claim your luggage for you and it will meet you in your room within about two hours after checking in. The kids can even watch a free welcome video while traveling to the resort.
Your stay at a Disney Resort also includes transportation to the parks – via bus, ferry or monorail system. All of this is free from resort to resort, resort to park or to Downtown Disney. Enjoy dinner, a show and even an adult beverage for the parents, then relax as someone else does the driving. Another benefit of staying at a Disney Resort is that if you drive your own car or a rental, you will receive a free parking pass for the parks – that’s a savings of $15 a day or more.
When staying on Disney property, you can partake in a wonderful experience called Magic Hours. Every day a different park opens either an hour early or stays open an hour late for resort guests only. This is a great way to get a couple rides fulfilled before the gates open to the general public or after they close.
I hope this gives you a few great reasons to stay at one of Disney’s exciting themed resorts!
