Many of us on the “Family Travel with Colleen Kelly” team have been involved in the Girl Scouts organization for many years. We are firm believers in women who help other women, which is why we support the Girl Scout organization. Girl Scouts is teaching my daughters how to become good citizens and how to hone their leadership skills. Overall, they are growing to be more and more confident young ladies.

Coming up on September 8, Chicago will be celebrating the 100th year of Girl Scouting with the first ever Cookie Classic 5K run and celebration. You can register here for the 5K and get other updates on the festivities taking place after the race. There will be musical performances and other entertainment for everyone in the family to enjoy. If you can’t attend the 5K, you can still join in for the fun after party. The race starts at 9 a.m. and the celebration ends at 5 p.m. and all the action will be taking place in Grant Park. We hope to see you there!
